Telekinesis, Matthew Caws (Nada Surf) cover Guided By Voices "Game Of Pricks"
I love Telekinesis. I adore Nada Surf. And Guided By Voices is one of my absolute favorite bands ever. Sure, it's barely over a minute long, but I don't think it gets any better than this!
Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) covers Rilo Kiley "Silver Lining"
Stereogum recently posted a TON of Death Cab for Cutie/Ben Gibbard live covers from over the years (props, guys!). This song is a favorite of mine when Jenny Lewis sings it, and Ben nails it with the sincerity of his voice.
Ted Leo covers Liz Phair "Fuck And Run"
Can Ted Leo ever do wrong? I love how he doesn't even flinch while singing Liz's girly, raw lyrics.
Norah Jones covers Wilco "Jesus Ect."
One of my favorite Wilco songs ever, and Norah's take on it is just effortless.
Ben Folds Five covers Built To Spill "Twin Falls"
Way back when I was a kid, it was thanks to this Ben Folds Five cover that introduced my ears to Built To Spill. I love that Ben can subtly change up the song with the piano.
